David Starr is one of ConectUS Wireless’ sponsored NASCAR drivers, and his racing career has been filled with victory and growth on and off the track. Frankly, we love him.
Starr got into the racing world when he was 14 when a friend asked him to be a part of his pit crew. Starr accepted this offer and has been involved in racing ever since. After a few years of working in the pits, Starr wanted to start racing on his own, and so entered into stock races.
David raced in his first pure stock race when he was 16 years old and he won the championship as a first year driver in Houston, Texas. He continued competing in these races until he was in his early 30s, when he shifted over to NASCAR. His first NASCAR race was in 1998 as he joined the Truck Series in a Chevrolet Silverado. During his Truck Series career, he raced in 317 races, had 117 top-ten finishes and four wins. His last Truck Series race was in 2013.
His next step up in the racing world was racing in the NASCAR Xfinity Series. The Xfinity Series is the series right below the Cup Series, and only the best drivers in the world race in these two series. In the Xfinity Series, Starr has competed in 257 races and has three top-ten finishes and one top-five finish. He has raced in the Xfinity Series on and off from 2000 until now, and has also raced in the best NASCAR league, the Cup Series.
Starr’s first race in the Cup Series was in 2003, and his most recent race in the Cup Series was in 2021. He has raced in 17 races in his career in the Cup Series and is a fan-favorite driver.
When David isn’t racing, he is usually spending time with his family at their home in North Texas. David has two sons, DJ and Vance, and is married to Kim Starr. David also enjoys maintaining his yard and puts his family first in everything he does. He is one of the most fun drivers to watch in all of NASCAR and is a great figure to represent our company and everything we stand for.
